THE UROS:
Group of natives living in the Lake Titicaca since Pre-Inca time and call themselves «children of the lake». The islands as their homes, boats and furniture are made of reeds (totora). The homes on the island have electricity powered by solar panels. The travelers are well welcomed and you can stay with the natives, boating and fishing, enjoying the typical food in the middle of a beautiful landscape, and see at night the sky of stars. You will also have a chance to do manual labor with the natives, either as cutting the reeds and knitting with the ladies.
Enjoy an experience to spend a night on this floating island along the hospitality of their families.
Day 01: Reception in Puno and transfer to the Uros Islands:
This service begins with the reception in Puno or pick up from your Hotel and transfer to the local port, where we take a motor boat to the Uros Floating Islands. On arrival we are welcomed by natives who share their ancestral experiences with us, then invite us to relax on their home island. Later we join to the locals for cultural activities and watch the sunset on Lake Titicaca. Return to the lodge to relax and enjoy a hot tea. At night we have the dinner and later the opportunity to see the stars and constellations of the Southern hemisphere. Overnight on the floating island.

Description
Uros tour is a tour of our community, Uros we are a pre-Inca people who live in a set of floating islands made by ourselves, we are a community that lives thousands of years in the middle of the reeds called totora, we call ourselves ” Kotsuna “, or people of the lake. We are not an agricultural people, and therefore we subsist with the fishing and the production of handicrafts. The skillful hombresson builders and drivers of totora rafts and women are expert weavers with a way of life on the surface of Lake Titicaca.

Description
Enjoy sailing with us on a boat totora and live the experience of fishing and cut the reed. The raft is practically our only means of transportation, so we know it and we manufacture it perfectly. The totora boat is the identity of the man of the uros and the totora has been an essential resource for the construction of large habitable boats, “floating islands” and the construction of totora boats has the advantage that it does not contribute to the pollution of the Titicaca lake.
Day 02: Sunrise on Lake Titicaca and Tour Taquile Island + Lunch:
In the morning you have the opportunity to see the sunrise on Lake Titicaca and you can go with the natives in their fishing activities. Then return for the breakfast.
8:30am we take our motor boat to continue the Trip to Taquile Island. (2 hours trip)
Arriving to the shores of Taquile, we have to walk up along a narrow path, enjoying the views of the Lake titicaca and the typical houses inhabited by quechua natives.
At the main Plaza, you will have free time to explore this place on your own.
Later, we have lunch at one local restaurant (They usualy offer grill Trout).
After lunch, we walk down to the pier to take our motor boat back to Puno. We will be back in Puno by 5:00pm.
